A confession: I love designing sound systems — and I'm also genuinely lazy. Not on the job. Lazy about waste. I can't stand watching good people burn hours pulling cable and hunting for
patch points when the design could have spared them. So I build every system to get out of its own way — fast to set up, obvious to run — and leave the hours for the creative work, where they belong. Thirty years taught me that: four continents, hundreds of artists, a hand in bringing d&b audiotechnik to a new market, all from the back of the arena making sure the sound was right and the show never stopped.
Here's the part I'm actually proud of. I take a genuinely complex digital system and make it simple enough that any freelance tech — even one who has never seen it before — connects it correctly, the first time, and fast. And I don't just hand over a wiring plan. I send a full work protocol, closer to a user manual than a drawing. Open it on a laptop and anything a tech doesn't know is one click away — I build the reference links right into the document, so they learn on the spot instead of waiting on me. On site, speed matters — but so does never going back. Every connection is checked twice. No callbacks, no "can you come fix it" the next morning. For you, that means fewer crew, faster load-ins, and near-zero patch errors.
And one bias I'll never apologize for: I've always cared more about the flavor of sound than its sheer volume. Getting it loud is easy. Getting it to taste right is the part I love. I work with rental houses, production companies, and the firms that design the spaces. I hold fairness and merit above everything — and if something's wrong, I'll tell you, even when it's easier not to.
